Siena

Siena can be seen from afar, shining perfectly in its medieval balance. The three hills on which it sits stand out in an idyllic rural panorama, in which the borders of the ancient center fade into a countryside that at times still seems like that portrayed in the Allegory of Good Government painted by Ambrogio Lorenzetti in the rooms of the Palazzo Pubblico.

The historic center of Siena, untouched for centuries, looks today as it appeared in the 14th century, and the preservation of a unique and coherent medieval architectural heritage is one of the main reasons to visit this splendid city, long aware of the fragility of its balance.
